Twitter debuts New optimized Mobile Website for Mobile Users

Twitter, the most popular micro-blogging platform have launched a new mobile website, an optimized one for those user who tweet using their phones. According to the company, plenty of people were still accessing its old Web site when tweeting from their phones, so Twitter revamped the old site http://m.twitter.com for them.

New optimized Mobile website will help those users who are not using special apps like Tweetie or Twidroid.

Here also, Redesign & optimization is the major work that can be seen on the new website. When you log in, there are four tabs for your Twitter stream, mentions, favorites, and direct messages.

Twitter’s mobile team, said the site works best on Webkit browsers on the Android, iPhone, Nokia S60 and Palm Web OS phones. The company will work out a better interface for Blackberries and other phones later on.

But the infamous fail whale, signaling the service is over-capacity and down is still there on Twitter mobile too.

Google says – Site Page Speed – May Become A Search Ranking Factor in 2010

How fast your page loads may have a direct effect on how your site ranks in Google? Don’t worry, it hasn’t had an impact…yet. But it could be in 2010. Google’s Matt Cutts discussed key ingredients in an interview with WebProNews out in Vegas – Says that Algorithm Change Would Make Slow Sites Rank Lower

We have seen Google’s New Code Project “Let’s make the web faster” few days before, it also shows that Google is very much concerned about the site speed.

Slowpokes to get penalized in Google search rankings 2010

Google pulls in a few hundred different factors in search rankings and pushes changes to the underlying algorithm at least once a day on average.

Matt Cutts said:

We’re starting to think more and more about — should speed be a factor in Google’s rankings? I mean, in AdWords, if your site is slow, that can be a factor in how much you have to pay in AdWords.

Historically we haven’t used it in our search rankings, but a lot of people within Google think the web should be fast.

It should be a good experience, so it’s sort of fair to say if you’re a fast site, maybe you should get a bit of a bonus. Or if you’re a really awfully slow site, maybe users don’t want that as much.

I think a lot of people in 2010 are going to be thinking more about ‘how do I have my site be fast,’ how do I have it be rich without writing a bunch of custom javascript?’

From the sound of it, speed is going to be a huge factor in SEO moving in to 2010. Making your site faster is going to benefit you in better serach rankings after an year if this is going to be true. So, Webmasters have to start optimizing it for speed anyway.

So, techniques like using WordPress cache plugins to staticize, speedup & increase responsiveness of webpages can be very effective.

Our 100th Post & A SEO Link Building Contest

Inforids.com has had 100 posts with this! We’ve made it a long way since our humble beginnings from April 19th, 2009 on. Online for about 6 months we’ve had more than 1000 comments, thousands of unique views, and now we have reached our 100th post & we’re going to run a contest.

We’ve really enjoyed writing these posts up and plan to keep on churning them out. One thing we’ve missed though is discussion & link love. Blogs are great for a lot of reasons, but perhaps the best reason is the fact that you can comment on posts with your own ideas, get link love and get into conversations with other readers. In doing so, you can get new ideas, offer your own expertise, and make new connections in the process! It’s a win-win scenario for everybody.

So to foster some more discussion, project writing & link love on this blog, we’re going to run a contest.

The objective of this contest is to collect some Best Search Engine Optimization Techniques to allow people to discover, interact & help new bloggers and to share the link love.

Understanding & Installing VMware in Windows | Run your Favorite Guest Operating System(OS) using VMware

Although there a different methods like installing dual OS on the same system, but when you have only one workstation, & you want to play with multiple OS on the same computer, VMware comes to play a power role then. Yes its right.

Having your Favorite Guest Operating System(OS) on Linux with VirtualBox 3.0.0 is great for those who like working in linux as the host OS & want other OS in addition there. Running multiple OS on the system is the choice of various curious programmers who indulge themselves in working on different OS on the same PC which is very helpful to get knowledge, understanding the technology behind them & how they works. So, now looking at VMware.

What is VMware?

VMWare is application software that provides a virtual computer on which you can install another operating system.The virtual computer or virtual machine(VM) runs as if it were a real operating system on a real computer with real devicesThe VM has its own CPU, memory, hard disks, and other I/O devices.

Host operating system is the one that runs VMware Workstation. Guest operating system is the virtual OS. The host OS can be either NT-based Windows or Linux (RedHat, Mandrake, SuSE). The guest OS can be DOS every flavor of Windows, Linux, BSD or other OS that runs on an X86 platform.

VMWare can boot iso images
Snapshots can be taken (up to 100 per VMWorld)
Videos can be taken using VMWare tools
You can drag and drop between the host of virtual OS easily

VMware Server will run on any standard x86 hardware, including Intel and AMD hardware virtualization assisted systems. The host operating system can be Windows or Linux. This article assumes you are using a Windows XP machine as the host operating system. The most important thing you should know about installing VMware server is that it will use significant amounts of your RAM.

VMware Download & Installation

1. VMware server is available for FREE. However, even though it is free, you must register to obtain a serial number to use it. To register, go to the Download VMware Server website and don’t forget to Register. By registering, you will receive a VMware Server serial number, save it in a notepad for later use.

2. Click the Download Now link then click Yes to accept the end user license agreement. On the next screen, click that you want to download the Binary.exe file. It is an executable, RUN it when downloaded & then it will download the VMware server.

3. To Install VMware, open the setup & inside the VMware installation wizard, click Next to get started. Accept the license agreement and click Next. Take the default of a complete installation by clicking Next. If you are running Windows XP as your host operating system, you may get an error message, simply click ok.

4. If you have autorun enabled on your CDROM drives, you will now see a window. Click Next. Finally, click Install to begin the installation. The setup will proceed and VMware server will be installed.

5. After the installation is complete, you will be asked to provide customer information. Enter your User Name in the box provided & paste that Serial Number in the proper box on the VMware customer information screen. Click Enter, Installation Wizard completed and you must restart your computer.

Going with the First Steps to Start VMware

1. Looking on VMware after installation, you may notice is a VMware Server Console button down on the quick launch section of your taskbar.

2. If you click on the VMware Server Console button on your taskbar, the console will appear, now click OK to connect to your local host VMware system.
