Google spins Docs preview into Gmail without Leaving your Inbox

Gmail users who share Google Docs with friends and coworkers now have an easy way to preview documents right inside their inbox. In the last post where we have seen how to Twitter from Gmail account, made use of Gmail Labs.

Now Gmail Labs have added a new way to peek at the content of shared Google Docs documents, spreadsheets, and presentations without opening them in another tab or window.

The feature follows previous preview features for YouTube videos, Google voice, Yelp reviews, and Flickr and Picasa albums.

How to activate Docs Preview in Gmail?

Google Docs previews in mail can currently be activated under the “Labs” tab in Gmail settings.

To activate Docs Previews in Gmail, just go to Labs, Enable Google Docs previews in mail & click on Save Changes.

Gmail will automatically detect when Docs files are linked within an email and display the name and type of document below the email. Click the “show preview” link quickly discover whether a linked file is useful or spam either.

How to Twitter from your Gmail account using TwitterGadget

Gmail, the most used powerful service from Google, has a very good feature called Labs, which adds usability power to your Gmail account by adding various addon features & more experimenting features that are under developments.

Gmail labs feature using which you can embed twitter into your Gmail inbox. TwitterGadget is a new tool that essentially allows you to have all of the main features of Twitter inside of Gmail as a Google Gadget.


To Use Features of Twitter inside of Gmail  follow these three steps:

Log into your Gmail Account & Go to Settings.

9- Filters – automatically sort received email documents from different recipients to specific folders / labels. Comes with multiple filter types.

10- Forwarding - send a copy of each newly arrived emails to another email account. For backup maybe?

12- POP Download / IMAP Access – access your Gmail email documents from your desktop email client, online or offline.
