Portable Google Chrome 3.0 for Windows Now Available for Download

PortableApps.com started to offer a portable version 3.0 of Google Chrome for Windows. So, now you can take the Chrome browsing experience with you.

The site offers a small application that downloads Google Chrome’s installer(Due to the licensing terms of Google Chrome), extract its files and installs a portable launcher. Then you can Copy the resulting folder to a USB drive and you can launch Chrome on multiple computers without leaving traces. That’s  really good part of this, using same portable version on multiple computers once downloaded & stored in USB devices.

Google Chrome Portable is a web browser that runs web pages and applications with lightning speed. It’s designed to be simple and stylish.

When your USB flash drive, portable hard drive, iPod or other portable device is plugged in, you have access to your Chrome browser just as you would on your own PC. And when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind.

Google Sidewiki – New Google Toolbar Feature allows to Read, Publish & Share your Insights + Video

Now Google Toolbar is equipped with a new feature, Google Sidewiki which is meant to allow users to Read, Publish & Share Insights & related information in the sidebar, next to any webpage. Its really very useful to track how many people visit the same pages and look for the same information & get the information that is added by many others have done while searching the same.

Google Sidewiki, with the major aim to contribute helpful information to webpage visitors, appears as a browser sidebar, where you can also read and write entries along the side of the page & share them.

Google has implemented an algorithm that promotes the most useful, ordered & high-quality entries allows you to see the most relevant entries first.

Google Sidewiki as a feature of Google Toolbar, is now only for Firefox and Internet Explorer but it will be available soon  in Google Chrome and elsewhere too.

Reading Magazines is always interesting & a good source of knowledge. You can read latest issue of popular magazines like PC Magazine, MIT Technology Review, Mac World, Reader’s Digest, Popular Photography, etc up to 23 magazines for free.

Zinio offers free access to the digital prints of popular magazines only to the iPhone users, however you can read and download these high resolution magazines for free from your browser. What you actually have to do is trick the website that you are using iPhone browser. If you are Firefox user you can do this by using User Agent addon. Lets see how it is done in Firefox.

Step1: Download User Agent addon from Firefox addon site.

Step2: After installing restart your brower, goto Tools > Default User Agent > User Agent Switcher > Options.

Step3: In the Options window, select New>New User Agent.

Step4: In the Description: field add “iPhone Win XP” without quotations.

Step5: Add the following text In the User Agent: field

Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543 Safari/419.3

and click OK to close the User Agent Switcher Options window.

Step6: Now switch user agent from default to iPhone via Tools > User Agent Switcher > iPhone Win XP to activate it.

Step7: Just go to the link http://imgs.zinio.com/iphone/ to read 23 popular magazines. Enjoy.

When you click on any magazine you will be asked to enter email address to get latest iPhone updates from Zinio, if you don’t want to give email id, just type any letters that are in email address format like abc@abc.abc to bypass. You have to confirm your age if you want to access PlayBoy and PentHouse magazines.
